(2) THE BAYOU CITY ART FESTIVAL @ MEMORIAL PARK

Things to do in Houston when your dead......bored! Had the pleasure of attending the Bayou City Art Festival and it was a great day, an enormous number of vendors showing every medium of art imaginable. Some I never even saw before! Take a look at some of the works....

There were a ton of outdoor sculptures and let me tell you I would kill for some of these in my yard, very cool! This Elephants head nods as the wind blows on the ears.

A purple Zebra, somebody had a few shrooms while designing this!

Lots of Longhorn Cattle themed art here...I wonder why?

Which bears are the sculpture and which are real????

I want this for my garden DAMMIT!

More of them Cattle!

YEAH BABY!! Shrooms again! Purple Dragon!!

Some crazy-cool windchimes/mills

This guy sounded fantastic, like Eddie Van Halen on valium! Very mellowing.

Definitly a huge turnout and a great day!

Stay tuned for more...............
......................and now more!!!

Very cool Cacti! Needles excluded!

Awww! Puppy, puppy!

Pee pee puppy!

I WANT this!!!

I want ALL this stuff!

I was a little nervous walking next to these sculptures knowing how Texans love their guns!

(1) HOUSTON: WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!!!

I Suppose the only problem is....there isn't any damn work in the states! Before I left I had, "job hunted" ,for several months and I have to say, never being out of work before, IT SUCKS!! You can walk into a business with signs up that say "NOW HIRING", and they have the nerve to say apply on the website??? WTF? What ever happened to the personal side of applying for a job? Have we become such cattle that personalities and first impressions don't matter? We have become cattle.....makes sense all the US jobs are being outsources to India. (They LOVE the cows in case you didn't know, they are sacred.)

So: "The stars at night are big and bright........"

"clap! clap! clap! Deep in the heart of Texas!" (Pee Wee's Big Adventure anyone??)

I arrived in Houston on March 22nd 2010, things have been as usual, nothing out of the ordinary. Rumor had it "Coop", Bernard Cooper from my previous Station 2 (Recognize!) was going to be in my group, but he has postponed his return, nice to know, Coop is a great guy and a great co-worker.

The usual stuff, intermittent classes, online training and bad, bad KBR food! The hotel is nice, Greenspoint Hilton (AKA: Gunspoint!)

Today a convention of "older ladies", some chorus I think, hit the hotel, the place is lousy with primped blue hair and sparkly dresses ala, Dancing with the Stars! But they are cute, they have an auction in the lobby with vendors all over. Some cool stuff I am not sure is associated with their group. They look like big bells carved from wood, take a look....

One thing the company cannot be faulted for is our accomodations, this week I had a room with 2 queen beds, it was very nice! I was switched to a "Suite" when the ladies rolled into town, the hotel though we were leaving... not quite yet, looks like Tuesday... We'll see..

Not bad digs for a week, free place to stay, free food, free time, too bad it is all in "Gunspoint!"
